U.S. Consulate campus in Casablanca
Overview
The new U.S. Consulate campus in Casablanca draws on Morocco’s rich cultural history and longstanding diplomatic ties with the United States, weaving local traditions into a contemporary urban redevelopment. Inspired by the dense arrangement of buildings in a traditional medina, the campus features closely linked structures, landscaped interior courtyards, and a perforated stainless-steel façade that mitigates harsh sunlight while evoking Moroccan lanterns. White stone and metallic panels harmonize with the city’s signature architecture, and interior spaces incorporate vibrant colors inspired by Moroccan design. Sustainability strategies—including water-efficient fixtures, native planting, a heat recovery system, and photovoltaic panels—are integrated to reduce overall energy usage by nearly 25%.
My Role
I was responsible for one of the primary buildings on this campus, specifically the recreation facility. Using Revit for documentation, I coordinated with multiple disciplines via Navisworks to detect clashes early and maintain efficient workflows. Additionally, I produced high-quality renderings with V-Ray that captured the design’s essence and met tight project deadlines, ensuring a cohesive visual narrative that aligned with the consulate’s broader architectural vision.
